Wahooo today I bring you the unboxing/ review of Sketracha 3inch Dunny by Sket One x Kidrobot. Before I start I was super excited to hear the release of the Sketracha. The Sketracha 3″ Dunny become one of my most wanted for the year because the love of the hot sauce and this will fit nicely with the old condiment Dunnys that Sket One designed. I couldn’t afford the OG 8 inch resin version from Sket One so Kidrobot releasing a production version was a dream come true.
It was Designer Con 2015 where I picked up two 3″ blindboxes but sadly missed out on the 8inch versions.
Packaging is what we expect, goes with the OG Huy Fong Foods Inc Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce. But still no sign of the old Kidrobot days of a collectable card insert.
First of all there is no other buzz like opening a blindbox and that smell of vinyl…. Ooops I forgot it the Sketracha wasn’t going to be made in vinyl due to the clear chase version of the Sketracha. I think its ABS plastic, but take nothing away from it, it’s still HOT!
Text is straight as can be, no visual signs of bleeding. No bent words and the joints are nicely joined up.
The colour is remarkably close to the hot sauce it’s self and I’m trying to pick some faults but seriously I cannot find any. Has NECA involvement with Kidrobot really worked wonders on the production side? I looks like it.
I managed to get the clear CHASE , never had any luck getting chases but the vinyl gods must me looking down on me. THANK YOU.
I love the the clear Sketracha, the paint application is spotless all the way to the tip. No over paint no smudges and stands well.
Now the chopsicks, personally I think they should have made is a tad shorter but then Sket One original resin Sketracha had long chopsticks. Depending how you display the Sketracha I personally would put them in one hand.
The transition to a production version couldn’t look any better. Now I wait for the 8inch version.
The 3″ Sketracha Dunny should be released anytime now at http://www.kidrobot.com/ but no official date has been set. Stay tuned to find out the release date on both the 8inch and 3inch.
